SHABACH! Ministries, Inc. services Prince George’s community with free Employment Readiness Programs, Groceries; Gift Cards and Meals and partners with County Government!

 

LANDOVER, MD--- SHABACH! Ministries, Inc. (SMI), a non-profit organization of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, will offer a free Employment Readiness Program to County residents beginning January 10, at 10:00 a.m., at 3600 Brightseat Road. Workshops will offer both employment and life skills trainings and assessments and opportunity to access hundreds of current job openings. Pre-registration at (301) 583-5327, is required to attend. After the workshops, FREE Groceries will be offered to participants in need.

 

SHABACH! Ministries, The Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, and Department of Family Services also partnered to provide County residents with a healthy holiday meal. County Executive Jack B. Johnson said, “In a County like ours where the Faith community plays such a vital role, collab-oration is paramount to our success and we appreciate the donation from SMI.”

 

SMI donated over 125 gift cards to the Department of Social Services and Department of Family Services. The gift cards were used to purchase food to support County families in need during the holiday season. “We are excited about the collaboration between Prince George’s County Government, our non-profit and Shoppers Food Warehouse,” said Cynthia Terry, President of SHABACH! Ministries Inc. “It is through collaborative efforts that we maximize our potential to meet the need in the community. “

 

“This is a special opportunity for Prince George’s County citizens,” said Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Health and Human Services Howard Burnett. “The holidays are an important time for families and I am pleased that our County’s social service entities were able to collaborate on behalf of the people in our communities.”
